Week Update (5/29/2018)

On Sunday, we had the opportunity to present in two different churches in Florida. Yesterday, we drove up to North Georgia (near Chattanooga) to be at our mission board’s annual orientation. We are extremely blessed to have this time to step outside of our normal routines to be challenged by church leadership and sharpened for service.

We would like to mention three specific prayer requests. First, please be praying for a special Bible study that we are leading at our church this summer. The purpose of this 4-week event is to not only show people who Jesus really is, but also to show them what it means to truly follow Jesus. Last week, we began going door-to-door to invite people so please pray for a good turnout.

Second, we ask that you join us in praying for 101001000 (TenHundredThousand). This is a special prayer request in which we would like to see 1000 churches started in Japan over the course of the next 20 years. Specifically, we are asking God to provide 100 laborers to do this. If you wish to learn more, we have a special article about this on our blog detailing this plan and prayer request.

Finally, we had a cancellation on Sunday night, June 17th and are working to find another church to present in. Since we are scheduled to be in northern Georgia that morning, please pray that we can quickly get another meeting in its place.

It looks like Buddhist monks can’t escape overwork in Japan. See the news section for more information.

Japanese temples are very popular tourist destinations, but it looks like they need help in the Human Resources department. One temple in Japan was sued by a monk for overwork during the tourist season! Click here to read more!
