Ten Hundred Thousand

It may sound simple, but this could be a game changer. In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus said:

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Today, I would like to ask you to pray for laborers in a specific way.

The Prayer Request

We would like you to join us in praying for 100 laborers that will each train 10 men to start churches in Japan. We are not merely asking for works to be started, but for rock-solid churches to develop and leadership that will “teach others also” (2 Tim 2:2). While God does not respect any man’s timetable, would it be too much to ask for Him to do this over the course of the next 20 years?

The Math

Twenty years seems like a long time, until you think back and realize that September 11th was almost 18 years ago. Time is running out and we have a tremendous work to do.

Should the Lord decide to answer our prayer, we will see 1000 new churches (10 x 100 = 1000 ) started in Japan in 20 years. Imagine what kind of power this would yield for the kingdom.

The Power

There are two different ways this would drastically shape the landscape of Christianity today. First, this would provide Japan with a substantial monetary base to reach its own people. With 1000 churches that are solid and rooted in the gospel, this would mean Japan could provide more domestic workers to reach Japan without outside help.

Second, 1000 churches would have a drastic impact on World evangelism. A recent article published in the news says that the most powerful passport in the world is the Japanese passport. If we could see 1000 solid churches started in Japan, it also means we would be able to send missionaries to countries where no American could ever go.

Time will tell

According to 1 John 5:14-15,

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

I believe it would be God’s will to see churches started, souls saved, and people trained/sent to reach Japan and the world with the Gospel.

Will you pray for 100 men to each train 10 men to start churches and train men?
