Over this past weekend, a powerful typhoon blazed through Japan. We were concerned about our trip to visit a church in Fukushima on the other side of the island planned on the same weekend. However, the Lord provided us with safe travels and even a sunny Sunday after the storm. Other areas in the Tokyo area (2-3 hours from us) were severely affected, but we were fine.
The church we visited is a Japanese church with a Japanese pastor. They own their own building and have been in existence for a little over 30 years. It was a great learning experience to see what the Lord has already done in Japan. We are now back in Niigata and back into our normal routine.
We created a short video (2mins) update for our prayer partners and supporters about what has been going on. You can watch it here. (If that does not work, try this link)

Did you know that fortune cookies originated in Japan? You might be accustomed to getting them at a Chinese restaurant so you might think they are originally from Japan. If you would like to see how they are made and learn more about these Japanese creations, be sure to read this article.
