It was a moment we have been praying for.
Takafumi and I were at breakfast this past week. After a few minutes of chit-chat, the conversation got serious.
“I’m seriously thinking about believing on Jesus” he said. Very sincerely he said, “I don’t want to make a flippant decision.”
I could tell the Holy Spirit had been working on him. We have been looking at the wha the Bible says throughout the summer about sin and salvation. He said he realized that he needed to make a decision for himself.
Of course, there were some questions. There were also some concerns. One by one, I tried to patiently respond to them. Everything was coming together.
“So what are you going to do?” I asked.
“I will believe” he said.
We then looked at Romans 10 together. “Would you like to tell God that you’re going to believe on Jesus?” I asked.
We bowed our heads, and Takafumi, in his own words, told Jesus that he would believe. Takafumi got saved! We rejoice that we no longer have to pray for him to get saved!
Even when he came to church this past Sunday, he seemed different (in a good way of course). After church Sunday night, he was already telling me about his friends he has been talking to about the Bible. Our next plan is to reach them. Please pray for Takafumi’s growth!

On top of this, thank you for praying for the meeting with the high school last week. Yesterday, we received a call from the teacher I met with. After this teacher met with the vice principal and another teacher, they said they would like me to come and help out at the English speaking club! This is a big opportunity. We are working out the details, but this seems that God is opening up a door!

Several hundred years ago, Japan was an island with many warring clans fighting one another. Although many of their castles are no longer in existence, some of them are. If you think a castle is just about a stone wall and towers then think again! Be sure to read this article to find out how they defended themselves.
