Obon: A week of spiritual battle (08/11/2020)

It felt like we had jumped back into rainy season, but we are now back in the middle of the heat here in Japan. Our attendance has been up and down and unpredictable because of the recent increase in the number of covid cases in Japan. However, our area has not seen a significant increase, and we are thankful that we are able to continue having services in person. Please pray for us as this week, August 13th -15th is a time of the year called Obon which is a time where many people go back home to visit with their families. Part of the traditional ritual is for people to go to the grave of their loved ones, and many of them will put their hands together and pray there at the graveside. It is a time of intense spiritual opposition here in Japan. Please be praying for us, especially through the upcoming week.
