This week, Japan is in the middle of a 10-day long holiday stretch known as Golden Week (sometimes abbreviated GW in Japan). There is definitely a different atmosphere all around. While some people choose to travel, there are still others that are just taking things slowly. While golden week is something that occurs each year, this year’s golden week in Japan is especially long since the emperor will be abdicating the throne.
Since the pace is a little different this week, we have a few things planned at the church. For example, this coming Thursday, we are going to be showing a video about the man who invented the MRI machine (he is a Christian). The video not only includes details about how the MRI was invented, but also has a very clear gospel presentation at the end in Japanese. Please pray with us that the Lord will use this as an opportunity to reach new people.

Emojis, the little characters often used to express emotions and feelings in texts, are originally from Japan. While some symbols are very universal (such as the telephone), many of the standard emojis are VERY Japanese. Click here to read more about how Japanese your emojis are.
