One of Japan’s well-known cities is Kobe because of its beef. Kobe beef is known by many around the world as expensive, top-of-the-line beef.
In 1995, the Great Han-shin Earthquake struck Western Japan and over 6,000 lost their lives. Of these, about 2/3 lived in Kobe.
This city is also well known in Baptist circles because of some missionary work. Don Sisk, who was a missionary to Japan with BIMI, worked to start a church in this city which is still continuing to this day. Today, there are approximately 1.5 million people (about the size of Philadelphia, PA) living in Kobe, but still only a handful of gospel preaching churches.
Please pray the the Lord would send forth laborers into this harvest!
