As we wrap up this year, we held a soba party at the church. There is a New Year’s tradition in Japan to eat soba noodles (noodles made from buckwheat). There is usually some kind of fried topping (shrimp etc). While New Year’s is typically a time people spend with family, we still had a number of people show up.
Tomorrow (New Year’s Day), the church will be having a New Year’s Day service. Please be lifting up bro Hill in your prayers!

From the News
Many people in Japan think people in the states eat chicken for Christmas. KFC has been a major chicken supplier for such a time. Yet, KFC in Japan is VERY Japanese. TIME magazine recently ran an article about what the executives do at a shrine each year. Read about what they do in this article.
