November 2020 Prayer Letter

Many Changes have occurred since our last prayer letter. From the Hill family getting back to Rosie’s new improvements in the language, a lot has been happening since our last letter.

The Hill family safely arrived back in Japan in early October. After completing their 2-week quarantine, we were able to hand the church back over to the Hill family. While it was quite the unexpected 5-month assignment, we were grateful for the experience and opportunity.

Some of our friends have asked about what the corona situation looks like here in Japan, so I would like to give you a brief update. Compared to other areas, Niigata has seen relatively few cases and is currently in more or less of a “post-corona” phase. COVID largely seems to be behind us, except for the lip service people pay to prevention measures. People typically still wear masks when going out, but things are largely back to normal.

Over the last month, we also saw a huge answer to prayer for Rosie. She continues her studies in language school in addition to practicing her speaking by going out, meeting new people, and making new friends. We were specifically praying for a tutor who would proactively help and correct her and were able to have a couple ladies meet up with her for about an hour after language school before she picks up the boys. She is working very hard and continues to get better. Please continue to pray for her progress in the language.

I have been regularly meeting with a gentleman (Mr. Sato) who started coming to the church. He continues to attend services as well and has been seriously thinking about what the Bible says and his need to believe Jesus. Please pray for him to get saved!

Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
