March 2024 Prayer Letter

Winter is drawing to a close and we are excited to be welcoming Spring and along with it the highly anticipated cherry blossom season in Japan! As Easter and cherry blossom season perfectly coincide this year, we are currently finalizing plans for our combined Easter service and outdoor picnic at the park on Sunday morning.

We just wrapped up our fifth kids’ club and will be entering a break. During this break, we are planning several standalone family-oriented events to try to connect more with the families living in the local community. Please pray with us for wisdom to plan these well and for effectiveness connecting with families!

Over the past few months, James has been putting together a Bible study to introduce Jesus to people who have absolutely no context of Christianity or the Bible. Through this process, a college aged friend has agreed to meet with him to review the materials and help to edit for clarity. Thankfully, this also provides opportunities to clearly share Christ more with this friend. We are excited to see how God will work in his heart through their time together.

Last week we hosted 6 individuals from the U.S. for the spring Recon Tour. We spent the week introducing them to the great need for laborers in Japan and were encouraged to see each one of them recognizing the spiritual depravity here. Each was seriously considering what part he/she could play in reaching Japan with the Gospel. We believe God is continuing to raise up laborers for the harvest.

We are currently accepting applications for the Summer and Fall Recon Tours, so if you or someone you know is considering ministry in Japan, please be sure to visit reachingjapan.com/recon.

Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
