Leaving for Japan (January 2019 Prayer Letter)

As we write this letter to you from the Atlanta airport, we can’t but help reflect on God’s goodness during 2018. Not only did He allow us to present in about 170 churches, but also allowed our departure to be expedited.

During December, we were still able to present in 10 different churches. One of our Wednesday meetings was cancelled due to Snow, but the Lord opened up the doors to another church at the last minute and we were still able to have a meeting. Time and again, God has taken care of us and watched over us on the deputation trail. We would like to thank all of you who have continued to faithfully pray for us during our deputation.

In the weeks leading up to today’s departure, we were able to get moved out of our apartment and stay with Rosie’s parents for the last couple weeks while we were in the U.S. The Lord also provided Rosie’s Visa just in time so all of our paperwork was clear before departure!

The last week in December, we attended the Our Generation Summit in Ohio. At the last minute, the Lord opened up the opportunity for me (James) to lead the music at the summit. Because we had a talented music team (vocalists and pianist) the music went very smoothly. On top of the 10+ people that committed themselves to full time missions, we were also able to meet a young man who believes the Lord wants him to serve in Japan. Please pray for Rayce that the Lord will continue working in his heart.

Please continue to lift up the Hill family and Hope Baptist Church in prayer. On their special Christmas service, they 15 first-time visitors! Please pray for the Lord to continue to work through them to get the Gospel out in Japan.

Once we get things set up, we will let you know about our updated contact information for in Japan. In the meantime, email will be the best way to get in touch.

Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
