The past few weeks have been a little bit slower, but along with the change in pace comes the opportunity to observe how God is faithfully working in hearts. Some of our regulars are getting more involved at church and exercising their spiritual gifts. One gentleman has stepped in to help keep coffee supplies stocked for after service fellowship. One lady has proactively planned and organized mealtime events. We are grateful to see growing community!
In answer to your prayers, the new visitor we mentioned in our last prayer letter has continued to attend church almost every week since and is showing a desire to understand the Gospel. Please pray that God would open his mind and heart to understand and accept Jesus Christ.
On July 27th, we will host our second Bible Seminar downtown at the TV Tower. We already have several registrations along with several more individuals who have expressed interest in attending. The couple who due to other plans stepped out midway from the first seminar has also said that they are planning to come for the second half of this second seminar.
In Japan the end of July marks the end of the first school trimester and the beginning of a six-week summer break. Along with summer break comes the opportunity to spend more time with families. We plan to invite our friends and host a family Bible study in our neighborhood over this break, and we have already had one family agree to come! Please pray with us for openness to the Gospel.
Summer Recon kicks off shortly! Recon Tour is a non-traditional mission trip during which you will scope out Japan’s need for the Gospel, survey daily life and ministry in Japan, and strategize your own personal involvement in reaching Japan with the Gospel. If you missed this Recon Tour, please be sure to check out the dates for the upcoming Fall/Spring/Summer tours at reachingjapan.com/recon.
Yours for Japan,
James Miyashita
