We have definitely begun to approach the winter months here in Niigata. The mountains in the distance are now snow-capped, and the first bit of snow fell in Niigata city this past Friday.
In March, we are expecting a second boy. The Lord has allowed Rosie to have a smooth pregnancy. Also, the timing is perfect. Rosie’s due date is right when she is off from school!
During November, Takafumi trusted Christ as his Savior! He is indeed a new creature in Christ! We are regularly meeting for Bible study. When we get together, he is eager to read the Bible and answer the questions. He has also brought an unsaved friend to church!
Going into December, please pray for the second church plant in central Niigata. Within a month, the new church’s webpage has already passed 1000 views and we are working to distribute information about the church to 11000 residences before the church launches on Sunday afternoon, December 22nd. Please pray for Bro. Hill as he preaches at both locations.
Things are also busy at the first church plant. Bro. Hill has asked me (James) to preach the Christmas candlelight service Sunday night December 22nd. Most people have no clue about the Gospel but still associate Christmas with church. This creates a good opportunity to get the Gospel out. Please be praying for this service.
In our last letter, we also wrote about the open door at the local high school’s English Speaking Society. The school has approved our involvement, and things will begin the first week of December!
Finally, we are excited to announce the Virtual Reality (VR) missions trip which will be released at the Our Generation Conference on January 2-4, 2020. By putting on a headset, people will instantly experience what it is like to be in Niigata. This VR experience will be offered free of charge to all who are attending the conference. If you have not already registered for the conference, please visit visionmissions.org and click on the events tab.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
