May 2022 Prayer Letter
Dear Pastors, Friends, and Faithful Supporters, At the end of April/Beginning of May, Japan entered golden week. This year two weekends and three holidays aligned. If people took off work on a Monday and Friday, they would have had 10 consecutive days off (Saturday through the following Sunday). While we didn’t do any major church

Last Sunday was our third Sunday in a row running double-digits in church attendance! Thank you for your continued prayers for our church plant as we move forward. Little Dip (4/26/2022)
Following a special service, we typically seem to have a dip in attendance. But that was not the case this week! We were pleasantly surprised this past Sunday to see that eight of the ten people who joined us for Easter returned again. Our two first time visitors were part of this group! Throughout the

Ten (4/19/2022)
As many around the world celebrated Jesus’ resurrection this past Sunday, we also were able to celebrate at our church plant in Japan. In fact, this past we hit a new record: double digits adult attendance. Among the ten were two first-time visitors. Please continue to pray with us as we work to make disciples

Vincible (3/29/2022)
I took this picture recently as my wife and I walked through some temple grounds. There were “prayer wheels” as well as this statue with a mask on (pictured above). Quickly thinking about what this would imply, I realized that the mask implies this god can either 1) get sick itself or 2) get me

B-Y-O-Boxed Lunch (3/22/2022)
Alas! This past weekend special prevention measures for Covid ended in 18 prefectures (states) including ours. It was a three-day weekend here in Japan so the measures extended through Monday, but we had a good turnout at the church. We decided to do a simple time of fellowship after the service by telling everyone to

March 2022 Prayer Letter
“Wars and rumors of wars.” Maybe this phrase has come to mind with the recent war which began Ukraine. Our heart breaks as we see the news pour in of unjust actions. Just as the media began covering the invasion in Europe, the domestic news began talking about extending the Covid special prevention measures (again).
