April 2023 Prayer Letter

Thank you for continuing to pray with us about our move to a new location. Progress has been slow, but steady. We were able to take a look after the previous tenant left and removed all of their belongings. When we did, we discovered an unexpected slab of concrete. Finding it before finalizing plans with our contractor prevented us from doing double work. Our realtor also was able to have a HVAC professional come by to give an estimate on adequate cooling since Nagoya gets very hot in the summer.

Because of our contract, we had to give a 2-month notice before moving out. We submitted our 2-month notice and the last day in our current location is June 5th. We are pushing to be in the new location by the end of May.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the summer internship we will be hosting. Our interns will be arriving in about a month. We have been meeting with interns regularly via Zoom to prepare them for their arrival. I (James) have also been searching and meeting with potential language tutors for the interns. Please pray with us that we can find the right language tutors for this summer.

Toward the end of March, Rosie’s family was also able to visit for several weeks. They were here during Amos’s third birthday. It is hard to believe that our boys are 4, 3, and 1 already. Silas just started back at kindergarten and Amos will begin this fall. Additionally, we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at the beginning of April. We are very grateful for all the Lord has allowed us to be a part of.

Please continue to pray with us for 5 people to get saved and baptized this year!

Yours for Japan,

James Miyashita
