April 2018 Prayer Letter

We were with 19 different churches throughout the southeast in March, and a number of them voted to begin supporting us! While it was an extremely busy month with travel, we praise the Lord for His protection as we traveled all over the Southeast. For April, we are scheduled to be with 14 churches. Stepping out of the Southeast, we will be in Pennsylvania at the end of the month in addition to West Virginia and Ohio.

We are also excited to announce that we are now around 53% of our needed support! This means we are on track to leave for Japan in April/May of 2019. Thank you for praying as we continue to raise support to go back to Japan.

Last month, we asked for you to pray for our trip to Pensacola Christian College to speak with students and recruit more laborers. The trip allowed us to meet some students who are seriously considering full-time missionary work. Additionally, we had the idea of bringing in a college intern to help with media at Vision Baptist Missions. I have had the opportunity to spearhead this work, and we have found a good candidate who has accepted the position for the summer. Since this will be a new experience and challenge, please pray for grace and wisdom in this matter.

Rosie has been doing extremely well during her pregnancy. Many have been asking if we are going to find out if we will have a boy or girl. While we are planning on finding out the gender, we still have to wait just a few more weeks to find out. Even though her first trimester was not very bad at all, the second trimester has been even better. We do, however, greatly appreciate your prayers for her and the baby.

Please also continue to pray for the Our Generation Pastor’s Conference (May 7-9) which will be held at our Vision Baptist Church. Specifically, please pray that the Lord will use this time to encourage pastors and help them in the area of missions. If you have not yet registered, you can do so at ogpastors.com ($50 per person). I understand that one pastor and his wife will win a free mission trip, so this will be a tremendous opportunity to not only learn about missions, but also experience overseas missionary work.

Yours for Japan,

The Miyashita Family
