Weekly Update (8/22/17)

Dear Pastors and Prayer Partners,

I must confess that we are overwhelmed.

On Sunday, we were with two different churches in Florida. After the service Sunday morning, the pastor said that their church would be partnering with us to take the Gospel back to Japan. Earlier this morning, I also received a call from a church here in Georgia saying they had voted to start supporting us as well. We know that this is God’s doing, and are thankful for the number of churches that have been contacting us about supporting the work over the last several weeks. Thank you for your prayerful and financial support.

This weekend, our home church is hosting the Women Behind the Scenes conference, and Rosie is busy helping with those preparations. This conference is the outflow from a blog that several missionary wives from the Vision Baptist team write. From those on deputation to those living in places such as Bolivia, Nepal, and South Africa, these women provide a not-often-seen viewpoint of life and ministry. If you or somebody you know would be interested in registering for the conference, you can do so at http://visionbaptist.online/women-behind-the-scenes.

Usually when trees and cars try to occupy the same space, the result can be anything from a scratch on a bumper or door, to a totaled vehicle. But what if cars were made out of trees? See the news section for more information.

  • Japan is very famous for its automotive manufacturing companies. Currently there is research happening to make automobiles out of wood instead of metal. Researchers believe that this will effectively reduce the weight of vehicles and aid in fuel economy. To learn more about this, be sure to read the article on our website!
