September 2017 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors, Friends, and Faithful Supporters,

Sometimes it feels as if we blink and another month disappears. August was definitely one of those months. We were privileged to be with 14 different churches in NC, GA, SC, and FL. The Lord also touched many hearts as we traveled, and 12 churches either voted to take us on during the service or contacted us to let us know they would begin supporting us. Some of those that contacted us were churches we had been with in previous months. We would like to say thank you to all of you who continue to faithfully support us both prayerfully and financially. In September, we are scheduled to be with 15 different churches, including 3 different missions conferences in GA, SC, and MS.

We would like to share two instances of how the Lord has provided for us this last month. One of our meetings had to re-schedule, so we prayed that the Lord would open up another opportunity for us. Sure enough, the Lord heard our prayers and provided us with a meeting! Not only did the Lord provide us with this opportunity to present, but we also heard from the pastor two weeks later that the church had voted to start supporting us.

Another instance in which the Lord showed His faithfulness was through providing for our needs. Our car was in need of tires, but rather than mention this specific need, we decided to ask the Lord to provide. One Wednesday night after I finished preaching, the pastor said he felt led by the Lord to take up an offering, and that offering was enough to cover our need for new tires. God continues to keep His promise to provide for all our needs.

At the beginning of August, I had the privilege of teaching a course on Personal Management at the Our Generation Training Center. The Training Center is based out of Vision Baptist Church (our home church) and trains young people for the mission field. In the Personal Management course, we covered topics such as common productivity problems and Biblical perspectives on personal management and productivity. We also covered how to use different electronic tools to aid in personal management. Please pray for these students as they prepare for the mission field!

Presently, we have 7 openings left for the first half of 2018. Please continue to ask the Lord to touch hearts and open doors for us to present and raise our support. Our goal is to be back in Japan in 2019, so please join with us in prayer to that effect!

Yours for Japan,

The Miyashita Family
