July 2018 Prayer Letter

During June, we had the chance to see the Lord do some amazing things. We were able to participate in the Our Generation Camp where a number of attendees trusted Christ alongside others who dedicated themselves to the Lord for service. We also had the chance to be with 13 different churches despite several cancelled or rescheduled meetings. The Lord continues to open up doors!

We had a number of churches vote to take us on in addition to several others that sent in support. We had specifically asked for you to pray for churches we have been in to take us on, so we would like to thank you for praying. Because of the additional support, we are now at 69% of our support level!

On June 28th, I (James) was ordained by Vision Baptist Church. Two days later, we launched our 4-week evangelistic Bible study. While we did not get the results we had anticipated, we are grateful for this opportunity to continue learning while still on deputation. Please pray for the remaining Bible study sessions (July 7,14,21).

In July, we are scheduled to be with 14 different churches in FL, NC, SC, GA, and TN so please pray for our continued safety on the road. Our car odometer just hit 200,000 miles but we have many more to go! On July 30th, Vision Baptist will also be hosting the Our Generation Student Leadership Conference. This event is for college-age students who wish to learn more about how to effectively engage in the great commission. For more information, please visit OGSLC.com.

Finally, please be in prayer for the Hill family in Japan. Once we arrive to the field, we will be serving under them. Right now, they are in the process of finalizing a building to meet in for a church plant in Niigata, Japan. Please pray that this phase goes smoothly and quickly in the Lord’s timing.

Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
