July 2020 Prayer Letter

First, we would like to thank each of you who has continued to support us and/or prayed for us despite the situation with COVID-19 in the U.S. It is a tremendous encouragement to know that you are behind us despite what you are facing.  We certainly live in uncertain times with things like this virus and riots going on. As followers of Jesus, we want to see Jesus come back quickly, yet still want more people to hear the Gospel and have a chance to believe the Gospel.

In our last letter, we wrote that the Hill family needed to return to the U.S. for his mother’s surgery. The surgery to remove the cancer went well and it looks like the cancer has not spread to other parts of her body. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to life up Bro. Hill’s mother as she recovers. Please also continue to pray for the Hill family, since Japan has still not announced any definite plans to allow travelers from the U.S.

As some of you know, our Pastor in the U.S. had been in the hospital for about three weeks due to the Corona Virus. He was in critical condition, but the Lord has miraculously healed! He is now home continuing the recovery process. Thank you for praying.

In June, we began trying a different Sunday evening service time. Based on some various information, we decided to make the evening service a little bit earlier. With the change in service times, we ordered flyers to let the community know about the change and have been working to get those out along with tracts.

We also held a small church event in June since things began opening up. We had a hand full of people who have been attending English come to a service for the first time. We make dumplings after the service and everyone seemed to enjoy the time together.

Because of the slump with the corona virus, one of our main difficulties has been finding ways to meet new people. Please be praying specifically that we can continue to find more opportunities to meet people and spread the Gospel!

Yours for Japan,
James, Rosie, Silas, & Amos
