Temperatures are gradually dropping to the point where we like to have a jacket on hand for the mornings and evenings here in Nagoya. Taking advantage of the changing weather, our church is planning a hiking trip this Saturday to 1) create opportunities to invite lost people to a “non-churchy” event and 2) build community among those who come on a consistent basis.
We are also currently working on attempting a kids program starting in January to reach directly into the neighborhood surrounding the church. Currently, we are planning to host it twice a moth on Sunday afternoons so we can focus our attention on ministering in this area without pulling away from our Sunday mornings.

Although bullet trains quickly transport people between major cities in Japan, taking a plane sometimes makes more sense for longer distances. One airline recently found itself having to use an extra plane even though they were at capacity because of a “weight” issue. Click here for the details. Do you think they did the right thing?
