Details discussed in this video:
James and Rosie Miyashita share updates from a busy month of ministry in Japan, highlighting events that have fostered meaningful connections. They begin by describing a recent Recon trip with four participants from various parts of the United States. These visitors, now back home, are considering their next steps, possibly returning on internships to further support the ministry’s gospel outreach.
They then detail a long-planned Christmas jazz concert featuring a Christian saxophonist named Mr. Yasutake. About sixty people attended, many of them new contacts who had never been to church. This event immediately bore fruit: the very next week, a guest from the concert brought her child to the monthly Kids Club at church, showing that the evening’s outreach had sparked ongoing interest. Additionally, former attendees who had drifted away from church also returned, reinforcing long-term connections.
Alongside these public events, smaller personal encounters are unfolding. They share how a local woman, who had been quietly observing their ministry for a year and a half, finally reached out. Meeting with her provided an opportunity to share the gospel for the first time. James and Rosie rejoice in seeing how patience and consistency lead to such breakthroughs.
Looking ahead, they mention a neighborhood outreach in January and a downtown worship service in February. Meanwhile, regular church members continue growing, with one Christian woman gaining fresh insight into discipleship. They close by requesting prayers for these efforts, new friendships, their Bible studies, and the individuals on the cusp of faith, as they press forward into the new season.
