How is it already December? I’m sure you might be wondering the same thing. November was quite a month, and we are getting ready for several big things at the church here in December.
In our last prayer letter, we wrote about Mr. Sato who has been coming to church. I (James) have been meeting with him every week before the service to study the Bible. This past month, Mr. Sato got saved! It was wonderful to see him go from “I’m not sure I believe this” to “Oh wow, the Bible is a true story” and then on to “I believe!” Thank you for lifting him up in your prayers.
Rosie continues to grow in her Japanese language skills. Her language school had the class take a practice test for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). This test measures reading, writing, and listening. If you are a foreigner looking to get a job in Japan, they typically will want at least an N2 level candidate. The test has 5 levels with the N5 being the easiest and N1 being the hardest. When Rosie got her results back from the practice test, she passed the N2 level! Please continue to pray for her as she grows in the language, especially for her conversation skills.
In December we have two events planned at the church. On December 13th, there is a Christmas concert scheduled at the church. We have been using registrations to keep track of who will be coming, and at the time of this writing, we have 8+ people outside our normal church attendees who are registered to be there. Please pray for the Lord to use this.
Additionally, there is a special Christmas Eve service scheduled this year. Please pray for things to go smoothly with this and for the Gospel to take root in the hearts of those who attend.
We are extremely grateful for your continued prayers and support. Thank you for all that you do in lifting us up and reaching out to be an encouragement to us. Have a Merry Christmas!
Yours for Japan,
The Miyashita Family
