We are now just a few short weeks away from our scheduled departure for Japan on August 31. Much has been in motion since our last letter that we would like to share with you.
Vision Baptist Missions and the Our Generation Training Center hosted the World’s Cheapest Mission Trip last month. For this event, young people from several different churches (including one from Wisconsin!) came to Atlanta and we took them to religious sites including a mosque, cathedral, and Hindu temple in the Atlanta area. We challenged the young people about how MOST of the world adheres to these religions and do not know the Lord. Several surrendered to be missionaries through this event. Please pray that the Lord will continue to direct their steps.
The following week, we attended our home church’s annual marriage retreat. It was a great time being encouraged and challenged in our marriage. While we only (already!) have been married for 4 years, there is still much to learn. The leadership and care at Vision that pours into the lives of couples to build strong marriages and we are very grateful for their investment.
In the middle of all the above, we have also been visiting supporting churches. Additionally,
the Lord has also blessed us with new support as well as we prepare to head back to the field.
Our time is now focused on preparing to return to Japan. This includes preparing literature that will be print-ready so we can maximize our time on the ground upon arrival, packing bags, getting rid of everything else we do not own but have been using in our apartment for the last 5 months. There are many moving parts, but we rejoice that we are still able to re-enter the country. Lord willing out next letter will be written from Japan.
Please continue to pray for us, the upcoming church plant in Nagoya, and for the people there to turn to Christ!
Yours for Japan,
James Miyashita
