August 2017 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors, Friends, and Faithful Supporters,

July was an exciting month! After arriving back from Japan on the 5th, we jumped right back into deputation. We were able to be at 11 different churches in KY, TN, NC, MS, FL, AL, and GA. On July 31st, which was a Monday, we heard from two churches that had voted in the Sunday evening service to start supporting us as well! Because of your prayers and continued support, we are now at 16.5% of our needed support to go back to Japan!

As a word of praise, we had two meetings in July that either had to cancel or reschedule, but the Lord opened up doors for us to present in other churches instead. God is good!

There have been several highlights from this past month. The first Saturday after we got back, I had the opportunity to preach a pastor’s fellowship in TN. We had a wonderful time fellowshipping over the Word. Our home church also hosted a special event to learn how to use Logos Bible Software, a powerful Bible study tool that helps students understand Scripture in light of its intended meaning. This was a two-day training session. The last weekend in July, we had the opportunity to be at our church’s marriage retreat in Atlanta as well. Church families and missionaries gathered to learn scriptural principles for growing and strengthening our marriages.

We are also excited to be a part of our home church’s outreach program. While the majority of our focus has been on distributing literature, our church also has a focus on reaching out to new families who have recently moved into the area. Please be in prayer for this work as we seek to reach our community here in the States with the Gospel.

In August, we are scheduled to be with 14 different churches. Please be in prayer for us as we travel to these churches and present what the Lord would have us do in Japan. As a praise, we are now completely booked through the end of January 2018, and need to fill 5 openings for the first quarter of 2018 (1 Sunday AM, and 4 Wednesdays).

Yours for Japan,

The Miyashita Family
