Weekly Update (9/25/2018)

We are back into deputation full force! This past week, Silas made his debut on deputation with us and he has been doing well. We are still adjusting to having an infant with us, but are glad to be traveling as a family again.

After several weeks of meetings close to home, we were with two churches in North Carolina on Sunday and one in Georgia for a missions conference yesterday. Tomorrow, we will be heading out to Tennessee for a meeting and then on Sunday we will be in Mississippi and Alabama. Since we are entering the fall missions conference season, we will be traveling extensively over the next month. We appreciate your continued prayers for our safety on the road.

Speaking of safety on the road, last Tuesday, I (James) had the opportunity to go to a missions conference. On the way home, the car headlights started to dim and strange noises started to come from the car. When the battery warning light began to turn off and on, I immediately suspected that the alternator was dying. While I was about 4 hours away from home, the Lord allowed me to get home safely and get the needed repairs done the next day with no problem at all. Since the repair was still under warranty, it did not cost anything extra. Your prayers for safety on the road are being answered!

This past week, we also had the chance to meet Dr. Don Sisk, who served in Japan as a church planting missionary as well as the director of Baptist International Missions Inc. We had a wonderful time learning from his experience and time in Japan
